Allan Rodger
Originally from Penticton, BC, Allan Rodger first discovered his love for music at 8 years old after building his own drum set out of garbage cans, pots, and pans. He purchased his first real drum set in 1968 for $50 and, as they say, the rest is history.
After being inspired by a local band, Allan began jamming with his friends, covering bands like Creedence Clearwater Revival, Led Zeppelin, and Grand Funk. At 15 years old, he began playing at local schools and bars. Allan moved to Vancouver after graduating high school and continued to hone his skills as a musician by joining several bands.
Shortly after moving, Allan began to experiment with recording, building his own home studio using tape machines and microphones. This newfound passion led him to pursue opportunities that allowed him to gain experience with P.A sound systems and he began engineering at a local studio in North Vancouver. While working as a recording engineer, he continued to expand his skillset as a musician, becoming a multi-instrumentalist (drums, guitar, bass, keyboards) for studio work. Eventually, Allan took over the North Vancouver studio, growing a strong client base of artists, as well as clients in film, TV, and theater.
In the early 2000s, Allan moved to New York where he continued performing in clubs and working as a session musician. He returned to Vancouver in 2008 and opened Flexitone Studios at the Song City complex, where he has been making music ever since.
